Irish Folklore about a Roane

First time I heard about a Roane was when I was reading a Romance novel that dealt with a male Roane and a human female. A Roane is another name for a seal person in Irish Folklore.
This link http://born-as-glitter.org/chai/selkiepaper.htm which is Selkies in Irish Folklore by Janna King.
Selkies is another name for seal people. The Romance Story that I read was really good and it got me more interested in learning more about the Irish Folklore about seal people. Seal people take their seal skin off and then they become a human. Janna article was very interesting to read about how the seal people would interact with the humans. What about you have you heard of the seal people? Or heard of some other folklore that you never heard of before?

There's a really cool almost kid/fantasy/ little bit of tragic romance movie that my son and I love called The Secret of Roan Innish. But my friend Cordelia Amiri wrote a skelkie romance so I heard of them before watching the movie. I'll have to check out the link too though because that sounds cool
